Of course there were lots of talented women representing our industry at MAX, but this was an interesting illustration of an imbalance I see all the time in design, technology, and UX: according to a 2007 study by An Event Apart, women in the IT workforce are outnumbered by men by over three to one.
Built with Adobe® AIR® 2.5, “The Essential National Geographic” prototype was first debuted on the Samsung Galaxy tablets in the Adobe booth at Adobe MAX. For anyone still at MAX the tablets are on the outside ends of the device bars in the Adobe booth.
The Complete National Geographic,” a desktop application that captures 121 years of the iconic magazine’s content, created by the National Geographic Society and designed and developed by EffectiveUI, won the 2010 Adobe MAX Award for the Digital Publishing category.
EffectiveUI President Anthony Franco will participate in the “Innovation and Inspiration: Top Creative Shops Share Their Passion and Vision” panel at Adobe MAX on Tuesday, October 26 at 8:30 a.m. in room 511C. The panel, with Anthony and other Society of Digital Agencies (SoDA) representatives, will share their thoughts on cutting-edge concepts for marketing in 2011.
