CSS/HTML Developer (Contract Position)

Job Summary:

Create XHTML markup, CSS presentation, JavaScript interactions using standards-compliant development techniques as a member of a comprehensive team including other developers, graphic and interaction designers and client and project managers.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Utilizes superior understanding of HTML and CSS as well as semantic markup and web standards to act as a team contributor
  • Works with technical leads and user experience architects to understand and translate wireframes and architectural requirements
  • Acts as a team member and collaborator to ensure the best possible solution for the EUI client
  • Interacts with clients as needed to explain, translate and communicate technical issues and clarifications

Required Skills

  • Demonstrable expertise in standards-compliant semantic XHTML and CSS.
  • Demonstrable skills in standards-compliant development techniques (e.g. progressive enhancement).
  • Experience with Javascript and the DOM.
  • Experience with working with complex Photoshop and/or Fireworks compositions.
  • Experience with cross-browser HTML and CSS.
  • Clear and proactive communication skills.
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision, and not be afraid to ask questions.
  • The desire to learn more and improve your skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with JavaScript libraries such as jQuery.
  • Experience on large enterprise-level projects.
  • Experience with templating technologies.
  • Expeirence with content management systems.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% as required by EUI client
  • Occasional background checks
