Senior Manager, Public and Analyst Relations
EffectiveUI is looking for a Senior Manager, Public and Analyst Relations.
The Senior Manager, Public and Analyst Relations is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the company’s public and industry analyst relations activities. Primary responsibilities are centered on proactively building relationships with business and technology media and analysts and coordinating with internal resources to maximize company thought leadership and coverage.
Candidate should have experience working in a public relations role for a software or technology services industry. The candidate should be a self-starter and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with limited direction.
Responsibilities
- Public and Media Relations
- Plan and oversee public and media relation activities including but not limited to press releases, social media news releases, trade show interviews, media interviews, partner events, client events, press tours for executives, and build relationships with media
- Develop and execute comprehensive public relations plans that support media exposure, influence positive branding, and increase thought leadership and lead generation
- Write search engine optimized press releases and other materials as needed
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with representatives of local Denver business and press community
- Manage external public/media relations contractors
- Work with external public/media relations contractors to:
- Develop key media contacts in industry, specifically with top tier media
- Respond to requests for information from the media or designate another appropriate spokesperson or information source
- Craft and pitch stories to media including writing and editing byline abstracts, articles and blogs
- Partner with newswire company to strategize outreach plans surrounding major news announcements
- Create and deploy custom news making programs
- Manage and produce employee bios
- Track relevant industry news and distribute daily news alerts to employees
- Upload press releases to the wire
- Create video content to accompany press releases and thought leadership content for posting on social media
- Industry Analyst Relations
- Manage analyst relations efforts with an emphasis on increasing thought leadership and new business leads through research briefings and mentions
- Develop and maintain relationships with primary and secondary industry analysts
- Coordinate and conduct inquiries and research requests with industry analysts
- Monitor upcoming research
- Monitor and contribute content to online analyst communities
- Proactively manage all briefings including identifying internal subject matter experts (SMEs), prep meetings, notes, final calls and follow-up
- Plan and coordinate annual advisory day with analysts
- Post daily research alerts and webinars to Basecamp
- Perform periodic research for internal teams to support client and prospect pitches
- Negotiate annual analyst subscriptions/contracts
- Thought Leadership
- Drive messaging and branding initiatives outside the organization to communicate a high quality image to business and technology media segments and clients/prospects
- Strategize with executive team on thought leadership direction and topics
- Participate in the development of the company’s positioning and in the creation of strategic integrated communication plans
- Corporate Communications
- Support CEO with internal company communications to employees including quarterly company update presentations to staff and other communications as needed
- Social Media
- Manage external social media contractor
- Work with external social media contractor to:
- Oversee all social media channels including EffectiveUI Blog, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and SlideShare
- Develop and maintain social media guidelines
- Evaluate recommendations for emerging social media channels
- Update social media strategy as needed
- Provide quarterly executive reports on social media results
- Work with internal blog contributors and social media contractor to:
- Monitor and comment on external industry blogs
- Optimize blog content for search engines
- Speakers Bureau
- Work with external contractor to:
- Arrange public appearances and speaking opportunities including writing outlines, pitches/abstracts, and bios; and shooting headshots and video for company executives, employees and clients to increase company thought leadership and brand awareness
- Develop and maintain Speakers Bureau guidelines
- Develop key contacts at industry conferences to determine speaking topics relevant to industry events
- Coach executives and employees in effective communication with the public (speaking opportunities) and with clients
- Arrange videotaping of external speaking opportunities and post to relevant social media channels
- Industry Recognition
- Work with external contractor to:
- Identify strategic industry awards that foster high-value recognition from clients prospects, partners, employees and potential employees
- Oversee all award submissions and trophy orders for the company
- Maintain master list of awards and distribute to sales for inclusion in presentations and proposals
- Maintain and update master client project list and obtain permission to use client’s name in boilerplate and on other external communications and marketing materials such as company profile
- Develop and maintain EffectiveUI content style guide
- Track overall public and analyst return on investment including leads and sales and provide quarterly report to executive team
- Provide general support to the Senior Director of Marketing in the achievement of marketing department goals
- Aid in developing and managing the annual public relations budget
- Other duties as assigned
Required Experience and Skills:
- Excellent writing capabilities with the ability to modify voice based on project requirements and audience
- Experience effectively managing contractors in order to execute position responsibilities
- Ability to partner with marketing team and executives to create and implement integrated marketing communications that further the company’s thought leadership, brand awareness and lead generation goals
- Experience originating, crafting, and delivering pitch stories to media with measurable success obtaining coverage by top and mid-tier media outlets
- Experience working in the software or technology industry
- Bachelor degree in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism or Communications
Additional Requirements
- Travel to 3-6 events per year is required for speaker support, analyst inquiry meetings, and social media support
