Create compelling mobile user interfaces. Collaborate with the Lead Experience Architect frequently to propose new solutions to complex user-centered design problems. Produce design artifacts and clearly articulate design decisions to team and client.

EffectiveUI is a team of 100 employees devoted to partnering with enterprise on strategy, design research, design and full technological implementation of custom software (yes, all in house) – generally web-applications, mobile, tablet & desktop applications.

Summary

User Experience Designer with strong interests and capabilities in the design and development of engaging mobile applications experiences (native and other). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing interactions for mobile. Candidates will have client-centered experience designing successful mobile apps, for both inside and outside of app-stores. They will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. This individual excels at providing both highly analytical as well as highly creative ideas to a design engagement. The candidate will also have extensive experience in a fast-paced and innovative development environment. A thorough understanding of contemporary user-centered design methodologies is a must.

Essential Job Functions

• Executing smart interaction design strategy and deliverables (web, mobile, and tablet) as a part of a multidisciplinary team
• Collaborating on user experience planning with a Lead Experience Architect and Customer-Insight/Design-Research group
• Direct consultation with internal and client teams
• Researching mobile interaction design and technology trends
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required experience and skills

• 3+ years of experience of interaction design experience
• 2+ years of mobile experience
• 2 years plus of experience with cross-functional teams and partially remote teams
• 3 or more years of experience in interaction design for software, leveraging emergent technologies and consumer electronics
• Experience supporting and collaborating with software development teams
• Experience with Native Apps and HTML5
• Familiarity with mobile technology (languages, devices, metaphors)
• Strong conceptualization ability, strong visual communication ability, drawing skills and sketchbook technique
• High level of proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
• Exceptional design skills, production value and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated familiarity working with of common software development practices and project management

Bonus Additional Skills

• Visual design experience
• HMTL and/or CSS
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interaction Design, New Media Design, or related design field
