Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) is a national network of hospitals dedicated to treating complex and late-stage cancers. Renowned for their nurturing environment within their hospitals, CTCA wanted to extend that atmosphere onto the web.
EffectiveUI was tasked with creating a microsite for patients to get a sense of how CTCA would meet their physical, mental, emotional and logistical needs throughout the treatment cycle.
The EffectiveUI team took a patient-centric design approach to understand the journey patients go through when they choose and then receive treatment at CTCA. After conducting extensive research—including spending a day in the life of a patient—the team created a digital experience detailing the treatment journey.
EffectiveUI delivered to CTCA a journey map, wireframes, visual designs/comps, a clickable prototype and animated videos to dimensionalize the microsite’s experience.
The new CTCA site includes minimal navigation and just three main section links that walk patients through the three phases of the CTCA experience:
To further demonstrate a typical day at CTCA, the site includes patient testimonials detailing their journey from diagnosis to treatment.
Before the site improvement, 72% of prospective patients viewing the website were undecided about committing to treatment at CTCA. After the website redesign, CTCA experienced a significant increase in site traffic and engagement. Our work contributed to CTCA becoming a leading online cancer resource, named the #1 .com in their category. Further, CTCA experienced a dramatic increase in conversions, with online patient acquisitions growing six fold.Work with Us
