EffectiveUI Announces Executive Appointments

New Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director, Design and Technology, to play key roles in reinforcing company vision and values, UX innovation, strengthening partnerships and maintaining high standards of excellence

Denver, Colo. – (March 3, 2009) – EffectiveUI, an award-winning, user experience (UX) design and development agency, today announced two executive appointments to its key leadership team in support of the company’s growth, increased focus on excellence, relationship building, branding initiatives and user experience-driven business strategy. The executive appointments are effective immediately.

Rebecca Flavin joins an elite group of women to hold a C-level executive position in the technology field as EffectiveUI’s chief executive officer. In her new role, Flavin will be responsible for reinforcing the company’s vision and values in addition to strengthening strategic partnerships and client relationships.

“Current economic conditions present a great opportunity for companies to differentiate themselves by creating more meaningful and compelling customer experiences across Web, mobile and desktop applications,” said Flavin. “Our clients are looking to us to partner with them in providing that competitive advantage. I am excited about the opportunity to demonstrate the value and importance of exceptional user experiences in driving business goals, increasing efficiency, improving people’s lives and in deepening the connection between humans and technology.”

For example, EffectiveUI worked with publishing house Herff Jones to develop eDesign, a multi-user Web-to-print system for collaboratively publishing school yearbooks, which increased the company's overall efficiency, promoted green initiatives by eliminating proofing materials and increased cost savings and market share within its first year of implementation.

“With the launch of eDesign, Herff Jones saw the number of online customers grow more than 500 percent over the previous year,” said Flavin. “The application not only redefined the company’s position in the marketplace, it allowed them to better connect with their customers and give them that competitive edge they were looking for.”

Since joining EffectiveUI as chief marketing officer in 2006, Flavin has been a key contributor to the company’s success by helping increase revenue by nearly 675 percent.

“Rebecca has a tremendous amount of respect from our clients and our team,” said Anthony Franco, president and co-founder of EffectiveUI. “Her professionalism, technical acumen, ability to build and cultivate strong relationships and clear vision of the importance of creating exceptional user experiences complement the efforts that EffectiveUI has made in defining the value of excellent software. I am excited about the opportunity to expand our executive team to better meet the needs of our clients, partners and employees as our company enters into a new era of growth.”

Peyton Lindley, EffectiveUI’s former director of user experience, has been appointed to the newly created position of executive director of UX design and technology. In his new role, Lindley will oversee the project management, design and development teams, streamline workflow process and focus on the company’s continued commitment to excellence.

“We are very fortunate to see our business thrive, which is why it is important to maintain our high standards of excellence and client-focused approach,” said Franco. “Peyton's experience and commitment to process improvement, efficiency and excellence have been instrumental to our company’s success and have led to his appointment on our executive leadership team.”

Lindley, who has extensive experience with team management, work flow process improvement and collaborative design methodologies, will primarily focus on the consistent delivery of excellence on all levels of project design, development, execution and client interactions.

“One of my main goals and areas of focus will be on the confluence of user experience with respect to design and development,” said Lindley. “I want to maintain a culture of excellence across the board, empower our people to do their very best work, encourage team building and collaboration on all levels and push the boundaries of what’s possible with technology in relation to user experience.”
