EffectiveUI Brings User Experience Design to Jones Lang LaSalle App for iPhone
Free commercial real estate mobile application gives customers and agents access to industry information and resources
News Facts
• EffectiveUI introduces a mobile application it designed for Jones Lang LaSalle, a global commercial real estate services firm, that helps the company provide utility and value to its customers and employees
• Designed with a focus on user experience, the application – available on the iPhone® and iPad® – provides employees and customers mobile access to company details, news and industry research
Providing Customer Value
Because the commercial real estate industry lends itself to mobility, Jones Lang LaSalle wanted to provide the same rich information available on its website via a mobile application to make it easier for people to find company details and industry research quickly while in the field, without having to boot up a laptop. The company looked to EffectiveUI for its expertise in creating mobile applications for the iPhone and iPad that would serve the needs of its customers and employees in the way they typically use a mobile device.
Designed to provide an engaging user experience, the Jones Lang LaSalle iPhone application is one of the most comprehensive in the commercial real estate industry, offering access to industry research and news, as well as a way to connect with the firm through an employee directory and links to its blog and social networking sites.
“When we decided to create this application, we knew we had to enlist a partner that would help us present all of our industry-leading research in a way that our mobile customers would find the most value,” said Sridhar Potineni, director of innovation, Jones Lang LaSalle. “As a result of EffectiveUI’s design, our iPhone application lets us provide valuable resources to a wide, on-the-go audience.”
A Focus on the User Increases Brand Value
According to a mobile study commissioned by EffectiveUI and Harris Interactive last year, 76 percent of mobile application users agree that all brand name companies and organizations should have mobile apps to make shopping or interacting with them easier. Knowing that users have high expectations for branded applications, the EffectiveUI team took a user-centered approach to ensure the Jones Lang LaSalle iPhone app would be valuable, easy to use, helpful and well-designed.
Because of the amount of valuable data the application accesses, it can be customized based on geographic region, and the search layers are streamlined to make it easy for users to find the information they are looking for.
“This project was a perfect example of a company leveraging the right channel for the right user experience,” said Rebecca Flavin, CEO, EffectiveUI. “Jones Lang LaSalle knew it was looking to provide relevant and easily accessible information to a mobile audience, and by focusing on user-centered design, the app will help elevate the company’s perception among its customers and employees.”
